On March 28, 2026, the NGHS Non Nobis Foundation facilitated a meaningful visit to the Trinidad and Tobago Wildfowl Trust, bringing together children from the Hope Centre home and our dedicated NGHS student volunteers.

Set against the peaceful backdrop of this unique natural sanctuary, the day offered a refreshing blend of learning, exploration and connection. The children were given the opportunity to engage with nature, discover local wildlife and enjoy a safe, nurturing environment outside of their everyday routine.

Beyond the experience itself, the visit reflected our commitment to creating spaces where young people feel seen, valued and inspired. Our volunteers played a vital role in fostering a warm and inclusive atmosphere, ensuring that each child felt supported and engaged throughout the day. It was a truly rewarding experience for all involved, and one that highlights the power of community, compassion and shared moments of joy.

On February 15, 2025, the NGHS Non Nobis Foundation carried out a Yard Beautification and Herb & Vegetable Planting Project at the JC Mc Donald Home for the Aged, bringing together students, parents, partners, and volunteers in a meaningful act of service.

On February 15, 2025, the NGHS Non Nobis Foundation carried out a Yard Beautification and Herb & Vegetable Planting Project at the JC Mc Donald Home for the Aged, bringing together students, parents, partners, and volunteers in a meaningful act of service.

Student volunteers from Naparima Girls’ High School played a central role in the project, demonstrating enthusiasm, teamwork, and a genuine willingness to engage throughout the process. Their participation highlighted the foundation’s commitment to nurturing a spirit of volunteerism and community responsibility among young women.

The project benefited greatly from the expertise of Mrs. Sandy Samnarine, Division Manager – Agri, Lawn & Garden at FT Farfan Ltd. and a proud former Naps girl, who coordinated agricultural supplies and guided students through the planting process. Support from the SURE Foundation, which provided the herbs and vegetable plants, further strengthened the initiative.

Careful planning and collaboration by foundation members ensured the project’s success. Collectively, the day reflected the foundation’s motto, “Shine your Light for Others,” while contributing positively to the wellbeing of the residents at the home.

From July 14-15 2024, the NGHS Non Nobis Foundation led a disaster relief drive to send much needed aid to Carriacou following the devastating effects of Hurricane Beryl on the island.

From July 14-15 2024, the NGHS Non Nobis Foundation led a disaster relief drive to send much needed aid to Carriacou following the devastating effects of Hurricane Beryl on the island.

The humanitarian effort was made in partnership with SEWATT and saw the entire NGHS community come together to donate a variety of disaster relief items which were subsequently sent via boat to our Caribbean neighbours.

Items collected and donated included water and juice, toiletries, feminine products, blankets and sheets, laundry detergent, and heavy-duty tarpaulins. The Foundation received heartwarming and invaluable on-site support for the packing and loading of items by NGHS students and parents, including new incoming Form 1s!

The Foundation was also sincerely appreciative of the support given by the NGHS administration through their communication of the drive and for facilitating the use of the school’s compound for the collection and coordination of items across the two-day period.

We continue to keep the residents of Carriacou in our prayers as they continue working to overcome this crisis.

The NGHS Non Nobis Foundation conducts meaningful home visits to senior citizens within our community, creating opportunities for connection, companionship, and care. Through shared moments and simple acts of kindness, our volunteers help reduce isolation while strengthening community bonds.

The NGHS Non Nobis Foundation conducts meaningful home visits to senior citizens within our community, creating opportunities for connection, companionship, and care. During visits to both the JC McDonald Home for the Aged as well as The Society for St. Vincent De Paul Home for the Aged, our student volunteers have spent time with residents through conversation, shared activities, and simple acts of kindness that bring comfort and joy.

These interactions help reduce feelings of isolation while reminding our elders that they are valued, respected, and never forgotten. For our volunteers, the experience is equally impactful — building empathy, patience, and a deeper understanding of the importance of service.

Our home visits reflect the heart of our mission to empower young women to shine their light for others, while strengthening community bonds and nurturing a culture of compassion across generations.

This event was fully supported by volunteer students from Naparima Girls’ High School who had fun engaging with the children – playing games, singing songs, dancing, making cards and face painting. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the experience and expressed their deep appreciation for the event.

We are proud to have organized this experience in collaboration with the ASTT and sincerely thank them, our volunteer students and parents, our sponsors, the Principal of Naparima Girls’ High School and Foundation members for their support in making this a success.

We continue to be committed to our motto “Shine your Light for Others” and to our purpose of promoting volunteerism.
