Club Activities and Projects

The activities and projects of the NGHS Non Nobis Club reflect the very heart of the Foundation’s mission to promote volunteerism among young women. Through purposeful service initiatives within the school and the wider community, the club transforms our mission into action — empowering students to lead, serve, and make a meaningful difference.

On December 9, the NGHS Non Nobis Club, in partnership with the school’s Cooking Club, undertook a meaningful outreach visit to the Haven of Hope Children’s Home. The initiative formed part of the club’s ongoing commitment to volunteerism and community engagement.

During the visit, students spent quality time with the teens at the home, engaging in games, conversation, and shared activities that fostered genuine connection and mutual encouragement. The atmosphere was one of warmth, laughter, and thoughtful interaction — a reminder that service is not only about giving, but about presence, empathy, and building relationships.

This outreach activity beautifully reflected the Foundation’s mission to promote volunteerism among young women and to shine your light for others. By choosing to show up with kindness and compassion, the students demonstrated that even simple acts of time and care can create meaningful impact.

We extend sincere thanks to the members of the Non Nobis Club and to Patron Teachers Disa Mohan-Maharaj and Sarah Balgobin for their continued dedication to service and for inspiring our students to lead with heart and purpose.

In the spirit of the Christmas season, the NGHS Non Nobis Club partnered with the NGHS Peer Helpers and the Interact Club for a joint Christmas Hamper Drive aimed at bringing joy to children in need.

The initiative invited members of the school community to contribute stationery, toys, and other essential items to help make the season a little brighter for young recipients. The response was heartening, as students and supporters generously donated to ensure the success of the drive.

On December 3, 2025 volunteers gathered to carefully wrap and thoughtfully decorate the collected items. What began as donated supplies was transformed into beautifully prepared hampers, filled not only with gifts, but with care and intention. The atmosphere was one of teamwork and shared purpose, as students worked together to prepare packages that would soon bring smiles to deserving children.

This collaborative effort reflects the Foundation’s mission to promote volunteerism among young women and to shine your light for others. Through service, generosity, and unity, our students demonstrated how collective action can create meaningful impact within the wider community.

We extend sincere thanks to all who contributed, volunteered, and supported this initiative. Your generosity helped make the season truly magical for children in need.

On July 7, 2025 members of the NGHS Non Nobis Club dedicated their time and energy to volunteering at the Animals Alive animal shelter, offering much-needed support in the care of the shelter’s animals.

During the visit, students were introduced to various aspects of responsible animal care and welfare. Beyond assisting with daily tasks, they also spent time interacting with the animals, bringing moments of joy and comfort to those awaiting their “furever” homes. The experience provided a meaningful opportunity for the girls to practice compassion in action — extending kindness not only to people, but to vulnerable animals in need of love and care.

This initiative reflects the heart of the Foundation’s mission to promote volunteerism among young women and to shine your light for others. Through simple yet powerful acts of service, our students continue to demonstrate empathy, responsibility, and leadership within the wider community.

Animal shelters such as Animals Alive rely not only on donations of food and supplies, but also on volunteers, fosters, and adopters. We encourage our wider community to support their work wherever possible.
