Beach Cleanup Outreach
On Saturday, September 21, 2019, the NGHS Non Nobis Foundation participated in a Beach Cleanup at Pointe Sable Beach in La Brea, in partnership with the Heroes Foundation. This global environmental initiative brought together volunteers around the world on the same day to take action for cleaner, healthier coastlines.

This global environmental initiative brought together volunteers around the world on the same day to take action for cleaner, healthier coastlines.
The Heroes Foundation, a longstanding non-governmental organization, coordinated the event’s logistics, transportation, meals, and cleanup supplies. Members of the NGHS Non Nobis Foundation executive were also present to support the volunteers.
Over 30 student volunteers from Naparima Girls’ High School took part in the cleanup, gaining invaluable experience in teamwork, environmental responsibility, and community service. The day was both impactful and rewarding, reinforcing our mission to empower young women to shine their light for others while protecting the environment we all share.
Le Marché Vert – Cultivating Conscious Living
The Soroptimist International Esperance Club of Trinidad hosted a Marché Vert (Green Market) on Sunday, September 29, 2019, at Block 7 Park, Palmiste, La Romain, promoting sustainable living and the use of local produce within the community.

The Soroptimist International Esperance Club kindly sponsored vendor accommodation for the NGHS Non Nobis Foundation, allowing our members to participate in this meaningful initiative. All proceeds from our sales were donated toward a worthy cause — supporting an NGHS student who required urgent and costly medical treatment.
The market was held in a lovely and comfortable setting, and several of our members were on hand to manage sales and provide customer service throughout the day. We extend sincere thanks to the Soroptimist International Esperance Club for their generosity and for helping us advance our mission of community service, while continuing to promote our guiding message: “Shine Your Light.”
Growing Hope: Orphanage Gardening Project
The NGHS Non Nobis Foundation undertook establishing a garden as a project at the El Shaddai Children’s Home, bringing together foundation members, student volunteers and community partners in a meaningful initiative focused on sustainability, education and service.
The NGHS Non Nobis Foundation undertook establishing a Garden as a project at the El Shaddai Children’s Home, bringing together foundation members, student volunteers and community partners in a meaningful initiative focused on sustainability, education and service.
The project involved the installation of a series of grow bags to establish a small but impactful kitchen garden, creating opportunities for hands-on learning and long-term food support for the children. All agricultural supplies were generously donated by FT Farfan Ltd, Agricultural Division, whose manager is Ms. Sandy Samnarine, a past student of Naparima Girls’ High School. As a qualified agronomist she is an agricultural expert, whose contribution and guidance were instrumental to the project’s success.
Foundation members and volunteers worked alongside the children of the orphanage, who enthusiastically participated in planting, watering and learning about crop care. The day was filled with interaction, laughter and shared learning as meaningful connections were formed. This environmental initiative reflects the Foundation’s continued commitment to empowering communities, promoting sustainability and shining our light through service.
